The main objective of the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme is to protect the public health. Assuring safe practice is paramount in achieving this goal. The Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (CMBA) develop codes and guidelines to guide health practitioners to practice safely and clarify the Board's views and expectations on various issues. To help TCM practitioners become familiar with CMBA's requirements, the presenter will briefly review the CMBA's guidelines for safe Chinese medicine practice, including guidelines for informing a national board about where you practise, guidelines for advertising regulated health services, guidelines for mandatory notifications, the shared code of conduct, continuing professional development guidelines, guidelines for safe Chinese herbal medicine practice, infection prevention and control guidelines for acupuncture practice, social media guide, and patient health records guidelines. The seminar will include a presentation, problem-oriented discussion, and case-based studies.
