The names of acupoints reflect the deep meaning behind the connotation of acupoints and their specific clinical applications. They are based on the ancients’ profound understanding of the functions of acupoints. It is so far back in antiquity that many of the original meanings and origins of the ancieDnt people’s names cannot be verified. After all, later generations still have a long way to go in understanding it.
With the international development of acupuncture and moxibustion, acupuncture points, the implementation of digitalization of names has made the profound connotation of acupuncture points disappear and lost its meaning. The true original intention simply retains its functions and indications.
This lecture starts from the existing meridians and acupoint systems, starting from special acupoints, and through their name, connotation, positioning characteristics and its special relationship with surrounding acupuncture points have been retrieved through repeated verification in clinical practice.
