Dr Yan has published over 60 academic papers in SCI-indexed journals, the Chinese Medical Association journal series, and CSCD ournals. He has led numerous scientific research projects in Quanzhou and has received two Second Prizes and one Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Quanzhou Municipal Government. He has developed multiple new technologies and techniques and holds three invention patents.

Dr Yan serves on the editorial board of the Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery, and is an invited peer reviewer for hongqing Medicine and Chinese Journal of Clinical New Medicine.
