The concept of Sanjiao (Triple Energizer) represents one of the most distinctive and complex theoretical constructs within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Since its earliest appearance in the Huangdi Neijing (The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon), Sanjiao has remained a central yet controversial topic in the study and practice of TCM. Despite centuries of scholarly exploration, there remains considerable debate surrounding the fundamental nature, structural composition, and physiological functions of the Sanjiao system.In recent years, new interpretations and theories regarding the Sanjiao system have continued to emerge. This lecture aims to review and summarize the latest theories and research on the Sanjiao system, with the hope of broadening perspectives and providing clearer conceptual framework to support clinical diagnosis and treatment.
